Maybe Boredom Isn't Something We Need To Escape.
When was the last time you were genuinely bored?
Not watching TikTok.
Not scrolling Instagram.
Not checking WhatsApp.
Not switching between five different apps.
Just sitting somewhere with absolutely nothing demanding your attention.

Just sitting somewhere with absolutely nothing demanding your attention.
For many people today, silence has become uncomfortable.
The moment there is nothing to do, the phone comes out.
Waiting five minutes becomes an opportunity to scroll.
Sitting alone becomes a reason to consume content.
Even meals and conversations can sometimes happen with a screen within reach.
We've become so accustomed to constant stimulation that simply being still can feel strange.
Boredom isn't necessarily useless. Sometimes, it gives the brain room to wander, reflect, imagine and create. When we aren't constantly filling our minds with other people's opinions, videos, music and notifications, we finally have space to hear our own thoughts.
Think about those moments when you were travelling, taking a shower, staring out of a window or lying in bed with nothing to do. Somehow, that's when random ideas, memories and solutions often appear.
Boredom can also teach us patience. Not everything has to happen immediately. Not every quiet moment needs to be entertaining. Sometimes, sitting with ourselves without distraction can reveal what we're actually feeling.
Perhaps we've become so afraid of missing out that we've forgotten the value of simply being present.
Not every quiet moment needs to be filled. Not every minute needs to be productive. And not every second needs entertainment.
Maybe we should allow ourselves to be bored sometimes—to sit with our thoughts without immediately reaching for a screen.
Because perhaps boredom isn't the enemy.
Maybe it's simply the space our minds have been asking for.
